Short Term Exchanges
Last from a few days to several months, often take place when school is not in session, and vary widely among districts. Participants typically stay with a local family in the host country, but they might also attend a youth camp or tour the country with students from around the world.
Application Requirements
McMinnville High School Student
Age 16-19
Multiple Interviews with Youth Exchange committee members
Final Candidate/s selected around October
Attend training and district events
Family of the sponsored student is stressed to agree to hosting the student from the other exchange family. A family to family reciprocal exchange of 6 to 9 weeks, depending on country.
Could be consecutive exchanges or staggered, again depending on country
Finances
• Costs for this program are all on the family. In addition to airfare, passport, there’s an application fee of $450
